We did half pink tags, and half orange tags. They will be alternating pink and orange on the guests tables.

Bridal Shower Invitaitons

Robyne is planning her friends bridal shower this Sept. and asked me to make up some invitations that had a fall feeling to them. Together, Robyne and i found the right colours for the job. We used a sparkly green for the top layer, a beautiful chocolate brown and orange for the next two layers.

The envelopes coordinate with the invitations.

AIRPLANES!!!

This was such a fun wedding to create stationery for!!

Elly & Bryan came to me in Feb. 2010, over a year before their wedding date!

Right from the begining they knew that their wedding was going to be airplane themed!

Bryan is working on and almost finished getting his pilots licence!! How fun!

Ok, so here is a quick rundown of everthing they ordered!

The favour tags were made to look like little luggage tags, with the wording on the front to say:

"Thank you for flying with Air Small today!"

The Invitation was made to look like an airline ticket, with a perforated RSVP card :)

Here is the seating chart, We used the names of different airplanes to determine what table each person was sitting at!

Here are the table numbers, once you found which airplane table you were sitting at, you had to find the co ordinating airplane table number!

Programs

Place cards, these are airplanes cut out with each guests name attached to them.

These are created to hang on the side of each persons glass.

Memory frame

On the front of each invitation i added an embossed silver swirl.

Heat Embossing

It's ALL in the details!!!!

I love the look of embossing on stationery.

This technique can be done in any colour, as you can see in the following photos that silver is very popular!

in this photo you can see the embossing is done on the same colour of card stock for that extra textured look and feel. you can also see the texture in the beautiful bling cardstocks that Paper Romance uses.

This silver embossing really pops off the black cardstock!

Snowflakes are so pretty when the are raised off the paper, embossing gives them an extra shine too!

This photo really shows the how the embossing is raised up off of the paper, to add dimention and texture.

Embossing can be easily added to any invitation package!

Orange Save The Dates!

First off I would like to apologize for my lack of blogging! I fell down a flight of stairs in my home 3 weeks ago and dislocated my shoulder, therefore not being able to do any more than the minimum :S

Today I am sharing some save the date cards I had an order for about a month ago. Sherri came to me with a vision for her save the date cards and together we made it happen! I LOVE how these turned out!! It's made to look like a post card (post marked and stamped in the corner) for their destination wedding next fall. Sherri, I can't wait to do your invitations!

Today is the 97th HH Challenge and Sirpa is asking us to make a card fit for a man!

I used Handstand Mouse for my main image on my card today and Single Present to teter on top of his feet :) I hand wrote the sentiment at the bottom of the panel. Brads in the corners of the panels and copics to colour with. Papers are from my stash and are by Fancy Pants.

Paper Romance is looking for a new team to start on November 18th!!!

The term will go for 6 months, and end May 31st 2011

This call will be open until November 4th at midnight.

This time around, I am looking for:

Eight full time design team members
Experienced & New paper crafters
Great photography skills
A Blog that you post to regularly
A gallery on at least one other scrap site
You must be prepared to make one card per week for our challenge day (Thursdays)
You must be able to host at least one challenge every 6-8 weeks
You must have a yahoo account to get into the DT group.
You must be very energetic when promoting Paper Romance on your blog or message boards.
You must also be able to participate in the occasional blog hop
You will have to have the Paper Romance logo listed on your blog with a list of the DT members.
If you are on facebook, I would appreciate if you posted your blog link with your weekly challenge card on the Paper Romance fan page. (www.facebook.com/paper.romance.store)

I recently got together with Erica Laker, she is a local photographer here in Southern Ontario and she is super talented! I asked her for something different and unique for a setting for my stationery and she delivered!! ... Now I gotta say, shooting paper outdoors is NOT easy!!! The wind was terrible, it took us two seperate attempts to get these pics done LOL

Anyways... here they are so enjoy!

HH Challenge - Country/Farm

Heyyy and welcome to another High Hopes Challenge (moved to Tuesdays remember!)

This week the challenge is to make a Country/Farm themed card.

I used Angel Bear Scarecrow for my card today, coloured with copic markers. My card is a little bit of an unusual size. It's 6x4, then I made the front panel with the image hanging off the edge. I like it!

I used my thickers again for todays card (also used them on the last card I posted hehe) They were still sitting on my desk from the other day LOL.

Baby Girl !!!

A co-worker of mine at Telus, is having a baby girl soon!!

So some of the girls at work(myself included) bought her a gift and I got to make the card!

Her babies name is going to be Sage, so I thought putting her name on the front would make for a nice keepsake, maybe she will frame it for her room! hehe

I used Bazzill Bling papers and thickers letters for her name.

The thickers were white lettering... so I coloured them with Copics!!

Want to know what the gift was that we bought her!?

and I mimicked the outside on the inside for our names :o)

Todays post is Wedding related (no card) I wanted to share some recent wedding stationery that I have done, This weekend this couple is getting married. These two are super cute together and really are meant for each other!

This first photo is a seating chart,,, the frame isn't on it yet ;) We picked out a lovely fuschia and silver bling papers, paired them up with some swirly font and stamping in the corners. Their guests will enjoy finding their seats I'm sure of it!

A little closer....

There are 15 tables, so to even it out for the 16th spot I put the bride and grooms names with their wedding date.

Thier tent style table numbers were made to match the seating chart aswell! I love when everything co-ordinates!!!

Thats right!! The High Hopes divas are packing up and moving to Tuesdays for our challenges!!!

We feel that sundays are a day of rest, and felt it was time to make the move!

This weeks challenge is to use spots or dots on your projects. I used the Froggy Candy Label/Bookmark for mine today because it has spots right on it!

I filled up a favour baggy with M&M's, put a piece of DP in the back, and the stamped image in the front.

I wanted to share with you my 3 year old son... He will be stealing these M&M's before they can be given away I'm sure!! hahaha. My nicname for him sometimes is Monster Mash(I know its not a adjective, but it fits!) Every time I take pictures of my projects he is there asking me to take a photo of him :o)

He and I both have a bit of a cold, hopefully we are feeling better soon!

Paper Romance Challenge #15

Hi everyone!! Today is the 15th Paper Romance Challenge, and this week Lori would like us to make a Clean and Simple card.....

Ok, when I first saw this challenge I was a little excited, I always want to make a CAS card, but I can never end up doing it, I always add a little toooo much LOL

So, for my card this week, there is no backer on it, I know, gasp!

I used the bare Bazzill Bling cardstock as the base! ack!

I used one piece of ribbon to tie a knot at the top, and two simple layers under the main image...which BTW is called Wedding Cake and available from my Paper Romance.

The sentiment is called Love and To Cherish

I am going to a wedding this weekend up north from here, near Toronto, I can't wait!

I LOVE it!

I coloured with Copics, cut out each frame individually and paired them with some bazzill bling cardstock, pretty flowers and designer papers! I stamped the zig zag frame and cut it out(that was tedious), popped it up on the front and popped up the little spidey :)

This was a Fun card to make!

I love working with halloween images, and these ones are extra special!

It was my sons 5th birthday last week and these were made for him.

Paper Romance Challenge # 12, Metal Embellies!

Hey everyone! Today is the 12th Paper Romance Challenge, and I am the host this week!

This week was my oldest sons fifth birthday, and this is the card I made for him :)

I loved the moment he opened it, the first thing he said was "this is one of Momma's cards!"

I guess I am normally a little protective of my cards when my children are around, because I don't want dirty fingers on them, missing parts,...etc. Please read my last post if you need more reasons!! LOL

SO anyways... he was so happy about it!

This is what making cards is alllll about my friends!!!!!

I used Ele-Fun stamp and coloured him with copics. I used papers from the Sweet Stack. The charm is my metal object for the challenge, ... I can't remember where I got it??

I hope you like my card today as much as my son did :o)

YNS Challenge #23 BOLD & BRIGHT!

Today is a sad day for me, as its the last YNS challenge I will participate in as a DT member :(

Our term ends at the end of August. But don't worry! I will still be playing along with the challenges as often as I can as a player now :)

Karen (YNS owner) is the most fun and caring person in the world! I have had the pleasure of meeting her personally at the last scrapfest!~ I hope to see you at the next one Karen! It was a pleasure being a part of your team and I wish you all the best for the future!!!

Today's Your Next Stamp Challenge is number 23 and brought to us by Kerry!

Kerry would like us to use Bold, Bright and summery colours for your cards today!

I chose to do a tri panel card, with a window in the front.

Let me tell ya...

This card was a pain in the butt to layout and put together! LOL

I'm sure there has to be an easier way to do this card than how I did it...but owell hehe.

I used spellbinders for the circles and for the scallop circle on the front.

I also used some sizlets dies, prima flowers, twine...the DP is from SU.

The YNS stamp I used today is called Flower Bouquet Fhiona and is available as a single stamp.

I coloured her with copics, I used some glossy accents on her in various spots and put some glitter on :)

Now I gotta tell you...because this was so horrific!

I left my glossy accents Open and on my worktable...

I went to check on my son who was riding his bike........

When I cam back...........

......

My one year old had glossy accents ALL OVER!

My brand new floors, chairs and my work table!!!!

It was terrible to clean up, but I am thankful I got to it when it was still wet!

........anyways... back to the card today LOL

Paper Romance Challenge #9 *Birthday/Celebration Cards!!

Welcome to the ninth Paper Romance Challenge!! Check out the challenge blog and play along for your chance at a Paper Romance gift certificate! Today Angela is asking us to make a Birthday/Celebration type card! My oldest son is turning 5 in August, so today I was trying to come up with somthing to send out for his birthday,- somthing simple, but cute, and here it is! I will get him to help me make the rest tomorrow ;) I used Shelbert from the latest High Hopes release and You're Invited for my card today...both stamps are available from Paper Romance of course. Paper Romance is also this weeks sponsor over at ICS, I used their sketch for my card today--- make sure you go and check them out! There is a Paper Romance gift certificate up for grabs!!

I wanted to share a moment between our puppy and cat :) These two really love each other! George is our puppy, he is almost 6 months old...and he is growing by the day!!! Pickles is our kitty, he is two-he was a Christmas present for the boys last year. Usually George can be found chewing on Pickles head hehe, Pickles is usually soaked with puppy drool most of the time hehehe. Poor Kitty!

This is a REALLY long post, with lots of pictures :o)

I know I have been promising to show these pics for awhile now...so here they are!!

I would first like to share the "before Pictures"......

Here is the view I had walking into my future studio...

Wallpaper on the walls, carpet on the floor...

.....and a fireplace!?

So..... I started tearing/scraping/peeling down wallpaper --- worst job EVER!

Peeled up the gross carpet!

Painted the walls a pretty pink :)

My hubby laid a beautiful floor....

.....and Viola!!!

I had a hard time with this colour combo....mainly because there was no pink involved hehehe, but I love how my simple little card turned out :)

Paper Romance Challenge #7 Stitch It!! & My copic storage

Thanks for checking out my blog post today!... Today is the 7th week of Paper Romance challenges! Cindy is the host this week and would like us all to do stitching on our cards! Hand stitched, machine or faux! You pick! So this is an easy one!! No excuses not to play along ;)

For my card today I used Sunflower Buggies. I coloured with copic markers, cut out and popped up a few layers :) (my new found love of card making, is cutting out these layers and giving my cards the 3D effect that these stamps deserve!!) I used Friday Sketchers for my card sketch this week. I used a machine to do the stitching around my card base and top layer.

Here you can see the layers with more deffinition. I curled the petals of the flower under.

I thought I would share my new copic storage (for now....) - I would really like something horizontal for my copics-so it can sit on my table top easier. But this is what I have come up with for now. I seperated each colour into familes (ex. B, BG, Y, RV....etc) This way I can find my colours faster....Now hopefully I can keep them organized! How do you store your copics?? Any tips for me?!
